Unwrapping my Glossy Box : Valentines Edition (feb14)

So here we are that time of month again when I review and share what I received in my box this month. Like always I'm a little bit late but then again so was my box. Glossy box has got a little bit slow at getting the box to me. This VALENTINES day box arrived on my doorstep on the 17th. Which in my eyes isn't then a valentines box because it's late. Anyway the products are amazing so who cares hey!

As you can see they really went all out on the decoration of the box, personally I think it looks a little garish and tacky but at least the effort was there right. The products that this months box contained were all themed around the colours pink and red.

Nougat London - Sparkling Body Shimmer
When I got this out of the box I thought it was a body wash, or a bath product. But It wasn't until I read about it when I realised it was a body lotion. This product will create a glowing effect on where ever you apply. You can buy this product from Nougatlondon.co.uk for £14.00

NV - Chunky Eye Crayon full size product!
This is a Eye Crayon in the shade Sugar plum, when I saw this product I was quite concerned to what I was going to use a pink eye crayon for but then I swatched it. It is a beautiful baby pink. This brilliant thing I love about products like these are that you can blend them out. You can either blend with your finger or a brush to create the look you want. I can see myself loving these products already. This product markets at £5 on NVcolour.com

Ciate London - Paint Pot (pp053 - Cocktail Dress) full size product!
I have been wanting to try a nail polish from Ciate for some time now but I either never get round to purchasing one or I forget. So I am very happy that this box included one. You may know that I am a little bit of a nail polish junkie, I love nail polish and I am very excited about getting to know this brand. This product is available on Ciate.co.uk for £9.

Giovanni Eco Chic Cosmetics - Chic Ultra-Moist Range
Firstly I would like to apologise about this picture when I received this Glossy Box I saw this and took it straight out for a little pamper after work. There for I took this picture quickly, which is why it isn't up to my normal standard. This product felt amazing on my hair, although I would have liked maybe to get a bigger sample. I have very long hair so It was quite hard to really judge the effectiveness of the product when I didn't have enough product. You can take a look at this product on healthbeautynetwork.co.uk this product markets at £7.99

Maybelline New York - Big Eyes Mascara full size product!
This mascara looks perfect for me, I tend to use two mascaras I use one on my top lashes and the Clinique Bottom Lash mascara on my bottom lashes, If this product can do both lashes I will be very pleased. I will probably do a review of this product, as I would like to show you closer up pictures of the brushes. you can buy this product for £8.99 from boots.com.

Lindt - Lindor treat bar
Well well well this was just a lovely treat to receive this month, I'm not even ashamed to tell you that I have eaten it already and it tasted amazing. I love Lindt chocolate, thank you so much Glossy Box. You can buy this from Tesco and Sainsburys.

Thank you so much for reading if you would like any futher information on the products above don't hesitate to contact me.
Lots of love

Collective Clothing Haul : Topshop, Primark, H&M

So as well as the make up bits I bought I also bought some clothes, although I should be saving money! oppps

Topshop
For my birthday I received a OUTFIT voucher, with this I picked up this lovely scarf, Its probably the softest scarf I have ever felt and I absolutely fell in love with it. This was £18.00 from the store, I have tried to find this online for you but I cant find it on the Topshop website, so it may be just available in store or it could be sold out.

H&M
These are just some basic leggings I believe they were £5.99 I love H&M leggings as they are quite thick and not see through. I hate it when you buy a pair of leggings and they end up being see through. You can buy these leggings by clicking here
This dress was £14.99, I just love this dress I think that I am going to wear this dress this weekend. As I am off to London for my friends birthday. You can buy this beautiful dress by clicking here
This dress is my favourite, when I set eyes on this dress I had to have it. The detail is lovely, I personally love the way skater dresses look on me. Although as I am quite tall sometimes they do come up a little short but this doesn't. This dress was £14.99 I think but as I cant find this dress on the website I cant be sure.

George (ASDA)
I am ashamed to say that this dress was bought from the child's section in asda, well the Teen's section. I saw this dress at the end of an isle and really like it. When I was looking at it closer I realised that they were teens dresses but I got the biggest size I could and it fits perfectly. I love this dress I love wearing dresses during the day rather than jeans and leggings at the moment. I can't remember the price but I know that it was under £10.
Primark
For a while I have been looking for shorts that I could possibly dress up and wear out for drinks, however I have always had this thing where I don't think shorts and high heels look right on me. But I think I may have found a brilliant pair. I love these they were £6.00 - £10.00 I think cant quite remember, they are amazing value for money.

Miss Selfridge
I have been wanting to get my hands on a midi skirt for a while, I just wanted a basic black skirt as I wanted to be able to get a lot of wear out of it. This is perfect it was £14.00 but as I've just noticed after I went on the website to get the link to give to you guys, Its gone into the sale for £9.80 which is a bargin! Click here to buy this skirt
Schuh
The last item I didn't buy myself, I got these as a early Valentines present. Me and my boyfriend weren't going to spend much for Valentines day but then he got me these. I have been debating on whether to get a pair of Converse for a while but I always held of and thought that I wouldn't get the wear out of them. But I have to say that I have worn these a lot since I recieved them! I will leave the link below so you can go and take a look at them on the website, they cost about £48 in schuh. You can take a look by clicking this link

Thank you very much for reading, If you have any questions that I haven't covered then just comment below or if you would like to see how I style something just let me know below or by tweeting me. My twitter handle is @JadeFarrelll

Collective Beauty and Skincare Haul : Tanya Burr Lips And Nails

Over the last couple of months I seem to have built up a few new products so I thought I would give you a little haul, some of these products were Christmas presents and some were birthday presents but more is what I have bought myself. I wasn't going to include my Christmas and birthday bits but because they are both so close together with my birthday being on January 26th I thought I would.
Tanya Burr

So if you read other blogs and watch YouTube videos, you will have probably come across the Beauty Blogger and Make Up Artist Tanya Burr. If you haven't then my question is where have you been? Tanya Burr has bought out a nail polish and lip gloss range which are available on feelunique.com.
shades of nail polish from left to right
1 - Midnight Sparkles
2 - Mini Marshmallows
3 - Peaches & Cream
4 - Bright and Early
The nail polishes are selling for £5.99 each.
The lip gloss is in shade Afternoon Tea, I can't wait to use these products.
The lip glosses are selling at £6.99 each.

NYX
NYX - Blush (PB01 Mocha) £6.00
NYX - Mega Shine Lip Gloss (LG122 Natural)£6.00
NYX - Jumbo Eye Pencil (609 French Fries)£5.00
NYX - Jumbo Eye Pencil (611 Yoghurt) £5.00
I couldn't believe it when I heard that a store in the UK was selling NYX products, so I had to take a look myself. The clothing store NEXT sells NYX I was very happy so thought that as I have been wanting to get my hands on some NYX products for a while i would take the plunge and try some from the brand. I have had a look on the website but I believe that they are only available in store.

MAC - Brush Cleanser
I wanted a brush cleanser that would clean my brushes through out but also not dry them out and make them feel horrible. This is perfect as you can see I have used some I believe that this product was around £10 but it was given as a gift by a family member.

Urban Decay - Naked Basics Pallet
I got this pallet for Christmas, I have used it a few times but really I was waiting for my brushes to arrive as my old brushes got misplaced. I believe that this pallet cost around £20.00 but as it was a present I'm not 100 percent sure on the price.

Real Techniques - Starter set.
This is the eye set it contains the following brushes that I will list left to right.
1 - Deluxe Crease brush
2 - Base Shadow brush
3 - Accent brush
4 - Fine liner brush
5 - Brow brush
This set was £21.99 from feelunique.com

Lavera - Pore refining moisturising fluid
This is a repurchase, I used this product a few months ago but when I ran out I had a spare face moisturiser so I just forgot to repurchase it. I can't wait to start using this again as my skin just hasn't been the same since. This is for oily skin. This product costs £10.90 from feelunique.com

Benefit - Porefessional
This is a Pro balm that helps to minimise pores I have started using this as I have had this product for about a month, so far so good I love this product so far. You can buy this product from Feel Unique for £24.50.

Clinique - Bottom Lash Mascara
I bought this product to use on my bottom lashes, this product has a very small brush and it is specially designed for use on your bottom lashes. This is in shade black and costs £12.00 from any Clinique counter. Or online here.

So there you go it may look like a lot of products but it has been collected over 2 months.
If you would like to see swatches of any of the products I may be doing a blog post about Tanya Burr's Lips and Nails very soon so that everyone can see swatches and close up pictures of products in use.

TAG: Would You Rather - Beauty Edition

I was just having a little look at some beauty blogs and came across this tag on www.frmheadtotoe.com, this TAG appealed to me a lot so I thought I would give it a go. I love some of these questions and loved reading these on other blogs so I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I did writing this.

1.) Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eye-liners, lipsticks and lip glosses or lose all of your palettes and eye shadows?
I would rather lose all of my eye liners as you can always use eye shadow as a liner.

2.) Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
I would never be able to chop of all my hair so I would choose to never be able to cut it again, you could do so much with it. But what can you do with no hair with out wearing a wig

3.) Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
Coral I love coral cheeks, my favourite coral blush is Coralista by Benefit

4.) If you had $1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or make up?
oooooh, this question really got me. I would choose to buy make up

5.) Would you rather apply lipstick as eye liner, or eye liner as lipstick?
I would rather apply eye liner as lipstick because the thought of getting lipstick in my eye scares me

6.) Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?
I would choose MAC because I live in England and I have never been to Sephora (one day I will)

7.) Would you rather only use one eye shadow colour or one lip colour for the rest of your life?
I would only wear one eye shadow as I love my bright lip sticks too much

8.) Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?
I would rather wear summer clothes in winter as you could probably cheat and wear your whole summer wardrobe to keep extra warm

9.) Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?
Bright nails for sure, I love bright nails

10.) Would you rather give up your favourite lip product or your favourite eye product?
I would probably give up my favourite eye product

11.) Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?
I would have to choose ponytail

12.) Would your rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lip gloss?
Never use lip gloss easy, there are plenty of other things to put on your lips.

13.) Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all, or sharpie them in everyday?
I would use a sharpie as I don't feel ready to leave the house without my eyebrows

14.) Would you rather live without make up or nail polish?
Nail polish as much as I love nail polish I couldn't live without make up

I really enjoyed answering all of these questions so if you do this tag it would be great if you leave a link in the comments to your post.

Thanks for reading
Lots of love

Glossy Box Review January 2014

The first box of a year came as a little bit of a surprise, glossy box has been revamped. Not much has changed but all the changes are okay. I think for me to give a good review on the change of the boxes I will have to wait until next months issue. But I will tell you about the changes and what has happened, the boxes have been reshaped they are now more rectangular. At the end of 2013 they changed the leaflets and information that the box contained, it started to include a monthly magazine and a small little leaflet giving you links and information for all the products contained in the box.

This is the contense of the box, this month I was happy with the box. Everything was something new for me apart from the tweezers and the face masks. I haven't used any of the other products before and look forward to using them.
Yu-Be - Moisturising skin cream
This is a Japanese skin cream, it costs £13.50 for a 33g size. I have used this product a few times and to be totally honest with you I haven't really noticed a difference in my skin. This has quite a strange texture it is a very thick cream that takes a lot of massaging into the skin. It is recommended that you apply a thin layer onto skin. You can buy this product at www.onestopbeauty.co.uk

Balance Me - Super toning body wash
I haven't really looked at this product much and haven't used it. It doesn't really WOW me too much, I'm not very keen on the packaging its a little dull. But I am going  to give it a go as I try to not judge a book by its cover or a product by its packaging. This product is sold for £10.25 this will give you a 250ml bottle. You can buy this product at www.balanceme.co.uk

The vintage Cosmetic Company - Floral Slated Tweezers
I love the look of these tweezers, they are just my cup of tea. I love all things floral, these also look like a good quality tweezer. These are £8.00 and you can buy them from www.thevintagecosmeticcompany.co.uk

Anatomicals - Puffy The Eye Bag Slayer Wake-Up Under Eye Patches
When I saw these they looked amazing, I have never seen anything like this before I don't know where I have been because they look awsome. I have used them and I didn't really notice a difference to my under eye circles but they are perfect for a little pamper they made my under eyes feel really smooth and lovely. I would definatly purchase these to use them for a pamper. They are probably best to be used when you have a lot of time on your hands as you have to leave them on for 30 minutes. You can pick these up at www.asos.com for £7.00 this pack contains 3 uses.

Montagne Jeunesse - Passion Peel Off Masque & Blemish Mud Masque
I love these products, I have always love this brand. I remember always using these when I was younger. At my girlie sleep overs, I have only used the Passion Peel off Masque at the moment and it was amazing, I love the idea of a peel of masque. It probably isn't best for a quick masque as you have to wait for it to totally dry and then you need to peel it of which normally takes some time. Quick tip AVOID putting near eye brows and hair line as taking it off hurts a little. But other wise this is a lovely line of face masques and I would recommend these. You can pick these product up for £1.09 on www.montagnejeunesse.com/fase-masks
I noticed that you can also buy these masques at Primark for £0.90.

Valentines Cupcakes

This will be a quick how to make post, I will be talking you through how I made my valentines cupcake. They don't have to be for valentines day but as the day was fast approaching I would make some cute little cupcakes. Valentines day seems like the perfect opportunity to make cakes. The cakes I made were chocolate sponge and a vanilla butter cream icing.

You will need

For the cakes -
+ 150g Butter
+ 150g Caster Sugar
+ 175g Self-raising flour
+ 25g Cocoa Powder
+ 3 Eggs

For the icing -
+ 250g Butter
+ 500g Icing sugar
+ 2 tsp Milk
+ A handful of raspberries (optional)

These are all the ingredients I used to create my cakes, it doesn't matter what brands you use. Use what you can or what ever you have in the cupboard.

You will need the following utensils -
Mixing bowl x 2 (can use one normal bowl)
Sieve
Electric whisk (can use handheld)
Fork
Skewer
Piping bag
Cupcake cases
Spoons
Cupcake tin (muffin tin)

Step one - Preheat your oven to 180ºC / 350ºF / Gas Mark 4. You will need to lay out your cupcake cases into your cupcake tin, the recipe I used said that the recipe makes 12 cakes but mine made about 18 cakes so I just placed 12 cases in to begin with then added more when needed.
Step two - Beat your eggs together in a separate bowl with your fork
Step three - Mix together the butter, sugar, flour and cocoa powder.
Step four - Use the electric or hand held whisk and mix together ingredients from step three and slowly add the eggs.
Step five - Use a table spoon and spoon the mixtures into the cases, you will need to put about a spoonful into each case. Don't fill the cases up as the mixture will rise.

Step six - Place the cupcakes into your preheated oven (near top) for about 15 - 20 minutes.
Step seven - After about 15 minutes you will need to check on the cakes if they are firm on top you can use your skewer by putting it into the middle of the cupcake if it comes out clean, then your cupcakes will be ready to be removed from the oven. If not then you can just put them in the oven for a little bit longer but ensure that you keep checking on them.
Step eight - When removing cakes let them cool for a couple of minutes, then take them out of the tray and place them on the cooling rack.
Step nine - While your cakes are cooling you can start to prepare your icing, You will need to place your butter and icing sugar into a large mixing bowl. This part can get a little messy so little tip, you can place a tea towel over your bowl and  whisk, this will stop icing sugar getting EVERYWHERE. You will need to mix this until it is completely mixed if it looks a little yellow you will just need to carry on mixing until it starts to look a little white. Then you will need to mix in the milk. I added a little more milk than recommended as my mixture looked a little thick.
Step ten - When the cakes are completely cooled you will able to start piping on the mixture you can make them look how ever you want but I just swirled the mixture round to make it look the way it does in the pictures. I then placed on the raspberry it isn't really a necessity but I just feel that it makes the cakes look a lot nicer.

I would love to see your feedback.
